pound lean Italian turkey sausage |

cans (14 1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained |

cup (about 6 ounces) coarsely chopped pitted dried plums |

medium onion, chopped |

tablespoons chopped fresh basil or 1 tablespoon dried basil |

cloves garlic, finely chopped |

cups hot cooked penne pasta |

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Remove casings from sausage. In large nonstick skillet, brown sausage over medium heat 7 to 10 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking up into crumbles; pour off dripping. Return sausage to skillet. Add tomatoes, dried plums, onion, basil, garlic and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 14 to 16 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over pasta.
